Instrument Rating (IR)

The aim of the Instrument Rating course is to train the Aspiring Commercial Pilots to the level of proficiency necessary to operate aeroplanes under Instrument Flying Rules (IFR) and in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).  The course comprises two modules that may be taken separately or combined, the Basic Instrument Flight Module and the Procedural Flight Module.

  • 2 months

Entry Requirements

  • EASA PPL (A) or CPL (A)
  • Passed all ATPL theoretical examinations
  • MEP class rating
  • Class 1 medical certificate
  • ICAO ELPAC Level 4

Training / Examinations

  • 55 hours training
  • 40 simulator training
  • 15 hours flight training

License issue requirements

  • Proficiency test
